I'm going to do the same style of discussion, except I'll comment on how it relates to Pv. P, instead of the Pv. E utility. Elementalist. Lantern Firebomb: Has virtually no utility for witches, unless you get it to level five and get aerial firebomb. It has some utility for aerial mindgaming and lets you move backwards while attacking after you run out of aerial combos and airdashes. For the most part, this skill has no use for your general Pv. P witch. Florae Circle: Even less utility than firebomb, since this has no hitstun in Pv.
P. This skill should not be touched. Frosty's Head: Okay, so Konbini has max frostyhead. Konbini is also a really unorthodox witch. A good one, but still very unorthodox. She plays like a frosty spam.
Level 1. 0 Frosty heads (the max that witches can get) have poor homing, so it's not recommended. If you want to spam something, a MM build would be more suitable. Pluto: A nice decent range poke, but again, much more suitable for elementalists since witches have no mobile casting.

Aerial Lantern Firebomb: As mentioned earlier, has some minor utility, but witches have enough aerial options as it is. Magic Festival: I've seen two or three Pv. P witches with this. It's a bit of a waste of SP, I think, unless you are really really set on casting a lot. In general your points will be better spent elsewhere. The cooldown time is nice, but it's not really necessary since some witch skills get CD reduction with increased levels of befriend. Elemental Burn: A huge SP investment that isn't worth it.
So my question is basically whether I should do Berserker -> Cleric or Ranger -> Cleric.
I believe witch skills can activate the marks, but the amount of SP you burn into this (5 levels of each basic spell) is definitely not worth it. Don't think I've seen any witch use this. Summoner. Hired Summon: Panzer Hodor: I don't see many witches use this skill, which is a shame, since he's a great interrupter in Pv. P. Spread rocks can give you cover while you cast a few things. At level 5, he throws spread rocks, at level 1. Leveling him increases his level and reduces CD on most of his skills.
Just don't summon him in mirror witch battles - you'll get punished by a nice EMM bouncing hitstun. Lasher: Don't get this. Not even debatable, don't get this. Instacast, but horribly slow. If you want to come out with sort of gimmick build for this, be my guest. This guide will mainly focus on a good general approach to Pv. P. Battlemage. Weapon Uppercut: Max.
No questions asked this skill needs to be maxed for Pv. P. Launching move, curve your uppercuts, etc etc. Dusts increase the damage and reach of this move. Dragon Fang: Get a minimum of one for utility. Dusts increase the damage and reach of this move, as well as adding hitstun if death dust. It's a nice poke, but I don't use it very often because it doesn't come out fast enough (I haven't tested a level 1. I think that SP can be spent better elsewhere).
Mana Shield: Max this. Save 1. 00 SP in your build for level 1. Phase Shift: Get minimum of one, though I recommend maxing. Increasing the level of this skill increases the buff of the doll, decreases the CD on the skill, and reduces the immobility period. Fast characters, like strikers often can continue their combo after a phase shift because you're left vulnerable for so long at level 1.
Palm Blast: Get 1 level for utility. I don't see much use for this move past level 1. Note, this move only grants superarmor when fully charged.
Cancel - Weapon Uppercut: You'll be doing very little ground melee for the most part, so you won't really need to cancel into weapon uppercut. That, and post mage patch this skill will be free. General. Quick Rebound: Get it. No questions asked.
Backstep: Get it. Backstep Swatter is faster than jump swatter. You can also in theory use broomstick spin while backstepping, but I don't see why you would ever do that, unless your opponent had almost no health and you want to kill them with the shockwave.
Aerial Firebomb can also be used with this skill, though it is highly unlikely that you will have this skill as a witch. Cancel - Backstep: Don't get this. You won't be doing much on the ground.
Post patch you get this free anyways I believe. Leap: There is potential use for 1 level of this skill.
Sometimes you need to get away from the ground for a while, and one level of leap gives you just enough time. Tack on the fact that we have our four aerial hits, airdash, and two times of slow fall, and that should be more than enough time in the air. If you're really stuck, broomstick spin on the way down. One level in this can't hurt you.
Throw Mastery: Don't get. Unless you're an item witch.. The 1. 50 Int is a nice damage boost, but could that SP be used better elsewhere? It's hard to say, honestly. If you like to buff as little as possible, don't get it, I guess. It'll make your damage spike up nicely for 2. All or nothing for this skill.
Cancel - Item Throw: Don't get it. Physical Critical Hit: We don't do physical hits anyways. Magic Critical Hit: I'm not really going to comment on this. I believe witches have enough SP troubles as it is for the moment, so you really don't need this skill.
The bonus for the amount of SP you put in isn't really worth it. Magic Rear Attack: Same thing applies, though this percentage is slightly better. Emos had an idea for a max magic crit and rear magic crit aoe build (since all the aoes are pretty much always back attacks. Don't get unless you're trying for something unorthodox or gimmicky. Physical Rear Attack: useless, don't get. Witch. Magic Missile: Florae skill.
Witches can get it up to level 2. There are magic missile builds, but they're general not very effective near end game. That being said, they can be extremely annoying, especially with max stars and max befriend florae for a bunch of giant stars that go really far. Keep this at 5 unless you're trying for a magic missile build.
Ancient Library: Don't get this at all for Pv. P. Post mage patch this gives an int boost, but it's not as good as AM, and if you're looking for an Int boost, just get Ancient Memory instead. It's very unlikely that you'll run out of MP in a Pv. P battle, unless you're a stall witch or something.
Cheeky Doll Shururu: Unless you really really don't like Jackyl bomb zoning in Pv. P (Lachrymose), you'll want this at 5. Leveling up this skill increases the range of the this circle, but that utility doesn't apply right now because the increased range of Shururu does not apply to the increased range of the Jackyl explosion. Also, Shururu doesn't last more than . Pv. P anyways, so there's no point in leveling up the debuff skill FOR NOW.
Post patch manual detonation it may have some utility. For the moment, get this to 5 unless you want to skip out on jackyl zone (not very recommended because Shururu has a CD in Pv. P of 5 seconds)Befriend Pluto: A Befriend skill, nothing really important to say here. I'm not going to go into the details of what the befriend does, you can read it in game or look at the Arad skill planner.
Befriend Jack Frost: A Befriend skill, nothing really important to say here. I'm not going to go into the details of what the befriend does, you can read it in game or look at the Arad skill planner. Befriend Florae: A Befriend skill, nothing really important to say here. I'm not going to go into the details of what the befriend does, you can read it in game or look at the Arad skill planner. Befriend Jack- O'- Lantern: A Befriend skill, nothing really important to say here. I'm not going to go into the details of what the befriend does, you can read it in game or look at the Arad skill planner.
Black Manteau: Originally I had decided that this skill was simply a 3 for the pre- req. Currently I strongly recommend this skill to be maxed. Reasoning: 1, blind lasts for 1. CD on the skill in Pv. P is 9 seconds, 3, max blind is scary and most people aren't very good at reacting to blind because only a few skills in Pv.
P will result in blind. It's a bit expensive, but well worth it in my opinion. Max this skill is recommended. Snow Dust: Death Dust: Both of these skills do the same thing, turn your melee into magic based, and give it an elemental property.
Both skills add to the damage you do, as well as adding to hitstun, etc etc. You should max one. Poison if you're bad at Pv. P and don't want to scrub, Frost if you have good reaction time and want to frost reset. Death dust will let you dish out more damage, but it has no reset options. Plus, later you won't even be able to hit with all four aerial hits because gravity will kick in so fast because you'll be doing so much damage.
Enhanced Magic Missile: Get this skill to level 5 for broomstick spin pre- req. This skill is wonderful in Pv. E, but it's really so- so in Pv. P. It can be used to stuff approaches or jumpy opponents on your x- axis, or to snipe at bots/summons/dopples, but otherwise it has very little utility. The damage output is nice, but I don't believe it's worth it to level up this skill a lot unless you want to bank heavily on electrocution. Jackyl: Get this to 1, or 3 for the lava requirement.
Generally speaking, you'll want Ao. E for zoning purposes. Lava has an added bonus of being HUGE on sleeper, and causing a slowdown, making it possible for people to drop combos if they're trying to combo you while they're on the lava. Leveling this up for the damage isn't too bad of an idea, but generally people aren't going to get hit by this because it's there for zoning.
Devolution Flyswatter: Strong recommendation for max. Good damage, combo extender, and sometimes will summon something useful in Pv. P. Instant spell, and can curse for 1. At max level the curse is - 6. Lollipop: All or nothing. Some witches favor it, some don't. If you're against a rush class, chances are you won't have the time to use it.
However, at max this prevents skills from failing if you have the befriend as well. Lava Potion No. 9: Get at least 1 level of this. You shouldn't be maxing this unless you're trying to bank on a heavy Ao. E build. The failure explosion range is significant, and sleeper is very nice as well.
